Retro Pink...or Vintage ?

These wonderful treasures  were tucked onto my Grandmothers bible...she has been gone for several years now...I guess my Aunt was just looking through it and found these telegrams that my dad had sent; announcing the birth of some of his children...What is the difference between retro and vintage ? at any rate they are old...and it made me cry to think she had kept them and written these poems ....and I never knew about them... notice how big the baby was in the first telegram! Wow! and she had him natural...

my mom was a red head!

she wrote this one for me...

The one on the far right is the Grandma that had these...my mom in the middle...my dads mom  first...they are all in heaven now....I am linking up with "How Sweet the Sound"

What special and beautiful mementos! Can you imagine the shock of people back then to be given the news of a birth via cell phone, or heaven forbid by webcam! The telegrams are wonderful. I like something tangible you can hold on to. Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

How sweet! Texas City from my neck of the woods. I just reading things like these and when they come from your own family they truly are a treasure I love getting into my moms ceder chest and finding stuff like this!

Oh my goodness...those telegrams are precious. And I read that 12#'s and had to lean into the screen to make sure I was reading it right. And I thought my baby was big. Happy (late) Pink Saturday. ~
