A Blessed Pink Christmas...


This is what I will be doing at least part of Christmas Day......after 19 hours....Elijah Scott Jackson Strickland was born by c-section at 1:45 a.m. on the 23rd of Dec...9lbs. 7oz....21 inches long and none of his clothes fit... we are blessed! I pray that each of you has a wonderful Christmas Day...filled with peace and joy...and remember that God gave us HIS very own SON! We thank you God for Jesus!

Merry Christmas! And thank you to Beverly for always being such a gracious host....all is quite and nothing is stiring not even a mouse!

Hustle and Bustle........

Just a few pictures of my some of my decorations...I have been having trouble downloading pictures...and I noticed when I looked at my blog from a different computer the pictures were all big and not showing right...I can'nt tell if these are better....the minutes are ticking by fast and I am not done as usual...I was hoping for a good week to just enjoy....

It's Begining to look alot like Christmas...

Morning....Pink Ladies.....Our local museum always dresses each little room in Christmas finery...so this post has alot of photos ...I just did'nt know where to stop...

You can barely see the little pot sticking out from under the bed...I was telling William what they used it for..he thought I was spinning another tale...my Grandmother use to have one under her bed...

Pink Saturday....

My Kitchen....dont forget to thank "How Sweet The Sound"








Poppy Seed Bread
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons poppy seeds
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons butter flavored extract
  • 1 1/3 cups vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 1/4 cups white sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon butter flavored extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Grease bottoms of two 9-inch loaf pans.
  3. Mix together flour, salt, baking powder,
  4. poppy seeds, butter flavoring, oil, eggs,
  5. milk, sugar, vanilla, and almond flavoring.
  6. Pour into prepared pans.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for one hour. 
  8. Cool 5 minutes.
  9. Poke holes in top of loaves and pour glaze over.
  10. To make glaze: Mix orange juice,
  11. 1/2 teaspoon butter flavoring,
  12. 1/2 teaspoon almond flavoring,
  13. and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
  14. Add enough confectioners' sugar to make glaze.
